Prime Line Catfish

         Our company is based in Scooba, Mississippi. We raise and process our own grain-fed catfish along with catfish from farmers in our area. Our company exists to serve our customers, employees, and surrounding communities. 

 

       Since the company’s inception we have been committed to producing the highest quality U.S. farm raised catfish product for our customers. We taste-sample fish from every pond multiple times before it is processed to ensure it meets our high quality standards.

       Our company’s formation began in the early 1980's when college friends Freddie Dial and Mitch Lowrey began discussing the possibility of operating their own pond-raised, grain-fed catfish processing plant and farms. Freddie had farmed crops and cattle his whole life and always wanted to start his own business. While Mitch had gotten some experience raising catfish after college. In late 1985 they decided to go into business together. They built a catfish processing plant and founded Prime Line Catfish, Inc. They began production with 14 employees. Freddie and Mitch worked everyday of the week and put everything they had into the business. Through the hard work and dedication of the founders along with all other members of the company, Prime Line Catfish has stayed in business for over 30 years and has grown to have approximately 120 employees and 270 catfish ponds in addition to the processing plant today.

 

       We recognize that there is still a lot of opportunity for us to better serve our customers and provide them with the exceptional U.S. farmed, grain fed catfish product that they desire. We as a company will always strive to better serve our customers because they are the reason our business is here today. In addition to serving our customers, our goal is also to create value for our employees and surrounding communities because they are also what makes this business possible.
